Adapting Advanced Treatments to Current Paradigms in Wound Healing
Chronic wounds are a complex interplay of multiple comorbid conditions; some modifiable and some not. There are many advanced therapies available to assist with healing problem wounds. Understanding the physiology of chronic wounds is important when understanding when to reach for advanced therapies.

The goals of this course are:
-Understand the pathophysiology of chronic wounds as it pertains to barriers for healing
-Appreciate the importance of an algorithmic approach to wound care
-Review some major categories of advanced modalities and their mechanism of action
-Understand the decision-making process for appropriate use of advanced modalities
